Google Majel, a clone of Siri on Android?

The site Androidandme reports that the Majel project has entered its final phase at Google. This definitely geek code name comes from Majel Barrett Roddenberry, best known for being the voice of the computer from the Federation in Star Trek. Majel is in fact an evolution of voice commands already available in Android. As Apple Siri, it would add a (large) key recognition of contextual sentences. It thus differentiates traditional recognition system that requires imposing well-defined keywords to undertake a particular action. Also according to the same source, it seems that only the Google Search service will benefit initially from Majel. This would search for things on the Internet and a smartphone in imposing sentences more natural. Other more advanced features should follow in 2012 to help control some or all of the functions of Android smartphones. The New York Times had said earlier this week that Majel will be launched by the end of the year, yet we are already in mid-December. It might therefore be more reasonable to expect more for January or February 2012. Anyway, with the appearance of Siri, who came to cut the grass under the feet of Majel, hope that Google has managed to keep a trick up his sleeve to show off and differentiate the service from Apple.
