Motorola Moto G officially announced

Google and Motorola this week, as expected, officially announced the Moto G. This mid-range Android smartphone with 4.5-inch display is available from $ 179 in the United States and in Europe.

With the Motorola Moto G, Motorola wants offer for everyone “a complete smartphone with an attractive price”. The device has a 4.5-inch HD display (from the scratch-resistant Gorilla Glass 3), it is the smaller brother of the previously published 4.7-inch Moto X. The Moto G runs on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean (an Android 4.4 KitKat upgrade follows in January 2014), so without an additional user interface you have immediate access to all the Google services like Gmail, YouTube, Google Map, Chrome and Hangouts. The device has a so-called waterproof nano-coating, making it splash-proof.

The Moto G is equipped with 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor with 1GB RAM and 8GB or 16GB memory (not expandable), a 5-megapixel camera (with LED flash and 720p HD video recorder), a 1.3-megapixel front camera and FM radio. The back cover of the phone is interchangeable and Motorola offers 19 different back covers and flip covers including black, white, dark and light blue, purple, yellow and red color.

The Moto G is starting for sale this week in Brazil and “different parts of Europe”. In the coming weeks, the unit will be offered in Latin America, other European countries, Canada and “parts of Asia”. Motorola promises that the unit beginning in January 2014 for sale in the United States, the Middle East, and in Asian countries. In 2014, the Moto G will go for sale in more 30 countries.
