At CeBIT in Hannover, Acer has introduced a new series of ultra-thin notebooks that, at first glance might be mistaken for ultrabook. The thickness of the Aspire V5, in fact, is between 15 and 23 mm, but the size of the screen and the absence of SSD clarify the category to which these products belong.
The Acer Aspire series V5 consists of three models with display from 11.6, 14 and 15.6 inches, and no doubt we can say that laptops are among the most thin and light for this price range. Acer says that notebooks are 30% thinner than competing products. The thickness of the 11.6-inch model is 15 mm, 21 mm for the 14-inch model and 23 mm for the 15.6-inch.
The hardware includes Intel Core i3/i5 second generation and a discrete NVIDIA GeForce GT video card suitable for creating and viewing multimedia content. Though retail versions of the notebook may have different features, however Acer will offer all the functionality that users expect to find in a modern product. The 15-inch model shown at CeBIT integrates a full size chiclet keyboard with numeric keypad, a USB 3.0 port, two USB 2.0 ports, an HDMI output, an Ethernet port, a webcam and ‘DVD drive (also present in the model 14-inch).
The Aspire V5 are not equipped with SSD, such as ultrabook , but the functionality Instant Connect still allows quick access to the Internet. The new notebook Taiwanese company will be on sale starting next month. The Acer Aspire V5 Price in India and the release date are still not announced.
