Adding My Computer icon on desktop in Windows 8
The My Computer or Computer icon in Windows 8 is used to open the Windows Explorer or the Windows file browser, which displays the connected hard drives, removable storage devices and also with free space available on each disk drive.
Although most users prefer to start Windows Explorer (or the file browser in Windows 
with the help of hotkey Windows + E, a minority run the file browser or explorer Windows by double-clicking the My Computer icon on the desktop.
Now that Microsoft has replaced the classic Start menu with the start screen in Windows 8, the home screen is the first thing you see when you log into Windows 8. The start screen in Windows 8 is used to find installed applications, files and settings and display a variety of information with the help of Live tiles.
Follow the instructions below to get My Computer icon on desktop in Windows 8.
Step 1: Open the Windows Explorer or the Windows File Explorer by simultaneously pressing Windows + E. Alternatively, you can click the File Browser icon in the task bar or just open any other folder.
Step 2: In the left pane of the window, click the computer icon and then click Pin to Start option to add the My Computer icon as a tile on the Start screen.
Step 3: The tile My Computer appears in the Home screen. You can move the tile back on the home screen. To do this, click and hold the tile My Computer and then move it to the left of the home screen and then release.
