The Sqigle Earl Tablet is extremely easy to use in nature and can work through the built-in solar panel. The company Sqigle has equipped its device with a monochrome display that does not consume energy, while the image on it remains static.
The developers estimate that reduced energy consumption increases backup time from the battery with a capacity of 3000 mAh up to 20 hours. On the reverse side of the housing, solar battery is located, capable to fully charge the battery for 5 hours. This means that a very long Earl can be operated without the need for conventional power sources. Of course, the tablet can be charged through its USB port.
The screen size of Earl is 6-inch and resolution – 1024×768 pixels. The display is provided with a backlight to enable a tablet to be handled in the dark, and a sensor for detection of the touch using infrared sensors, which allows its use with gloves.
Interestingly, this tablet is equipped with a transceiver operating in the FRS, GMRS and MURS bands and provides radio within 30 miles. It is equipped with a GPS receiver, and capable of receiving radio waves in the LW, MW, HF and VHF bands. The device runs on Android 4.1 OS and is enclosed in a waterproof housing, conforming to IP67.
At present, Earl continues to raise funds to start production. So far they have collected $ 10,000 of the required 250,000 U.S. dollars. The cost of pre-order is $249. It is expected that the sales of this product will begin in early August this year.
