The partnership between Nokia and Microsoft has led to the birth of four Lumia series smartphones, targeted at different price ranges and markets. The Finnish manufacturer would announce these models based on Windows Phone 8 later this year. According to prevailing news, Nokia will make a 10 inches display device with ARM.
According to the roadmap announced by Qualcomm, one of three Microsoft partners for the development of the ARM version of Windows 8, the tablet is very likely that Nokia will integrate a chip dual-core Snapdragon S4 (MSM8960), the same processor that should be placed in first smartphone based on Windows Phone 8.
Given the lags behind competitors Apple and Android, almost certainly the 10-inch display has a high resolution (at least 1,920 × 1,200 pixels). Only in this way Nokia and Microsoft will be able to compete on equal terms against the new iPad. According to sources, Compal Electronics is a manufacturer who will build the first batch of 200,000 units.
The launch of a Windows 8 tablet was announced by Stephen Elop, CEO of Nokia, last October. During an ‘ interview , Elop talked a Nokia ecosystem that includes smartphones and tablets. The next device will therefore be the result of the union between the user experience offered by the interface and the winning design for Metro Lumia 800 and 900. The official announcement could occur on the same day that Microsoft will present the final version of Windows 8, during the fourth quarter.
