Asus Windows 8 Laptop with Kinect Motion Sensor

The Kinect motion sensor was introduced in 2010 as an add-on for Microsoft’s Xbox 360 game console and is a great success. Kinect records user movements and converts them into actions on the screen, without requiring a separate controller (such as the Nintendo Wii).

With the advent of Windows 8 (specifically designed for touch screens) later this year, Microsoft wants to expand further the ‘touch’ technology, so you can operate your laptop without having to touch the screen. Asus laptops would therefore have developed prototype which Microsoft Kinect sensor is integrated below the screen and at the place where normally a webcam is installed.

If the technology is developed in the future, then you probably ever entirely operated by your laptop with your hands for the screen to fly, just like in the science fiction film Minority Report (see video below). It is not known when Asus Microsoft and the technology come in market.
