Until now, the title of the thinnest smartphone in the world belonged to Motorola DROID RAZR which has a thickness of 7.1 mm. But soon the unit will lose its title; it will be occupied by Fujitsu Arrows F-07D smartphone which is in the process of certification by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).
Fujitsu Arrows F-07D is rugged with 4″ Gorilla Glass display, which offers a resolution of 480 x 854 pixels display with OLED technology. Inside we find a thin body single-core Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8255 processor running at 1.4 GHz, which takes care of running the Android operating system 2.3, Ram size is 512 MB with in-built phone memory of 1 GB and is expected to be further expandable with memory cards.
Overall dimensions of this Japanese model are 127 x 64 x 6.9 mm, weighing 109 grams. The device will manage fast data transfer speeds with the support of HSDPA 14.4 Mbit/s, including work with high-speed LTE networks. The Fujitsu Arrows F-07D specifications include a camera that can capture images with a resolution of up to 5 megapixels. The power supply takes care of battery with a capacity of 1400 mAh. Battery of Fujitsu ARROWS F-07D allows device operation up to 330 minutes of talk time and 430 hours of standby time in 3G-network.
Fujitsu Arrows F-07D should be available during 2012 at the Japanese operator NTT DoCoMo for an unspecified price. The extension to other countries is not yet in any news. However, when taking into account the fact that first came up with information the U.S. FCC, there is little likelihood that the device could sell just on the U.S. market. Anyhow, Arrows F-07D gets dubbed the thinnest smartphone world and will be interesting to see for how long to keep an imaginary throne.
