Nokia, the world’s largest maker of mobile phones, plans to launch in mid-2012 equipped with an electronic tablet Windows 8 , the next version of the operating system Microsoft to compete with the iPhone from Apple, according to published Today the French daily “Les Echos”.
“In June 2012, we have a tablet running Windows 8″, said the CEO of Nokia in France, Paul Amsellem, in a newspaper interview with the Frenchman.
So far, the Finnish manufacturer refuses to officially confirm or deny the news. “We have not announced any specific plans in regard to tablets,” said a spokesperson from Nokia headquarters in Espoo (Finland).
If confirmed these plans, Nokia would jump to the attractive and growing business of electronic tablets, a hybrid between computer and smartphone invented by Apple in early 2010. The release date and what will be the price of Windows 8 tablet in India is still not confirmed.
A STRATEGIC ALLIANCE
Nokia launched last October 26 the first two smartphones based on Windows operating system for mobile Phone, the result of its strategic alliance with U.S. software giant Microsoft , and the first of these devices, the Lumia 800, arrived in Indian stores.
The two companies are cooperating closely to create “a new global mobile ecosystem” that competes with IOS platforms, Apple, and Google’s Android.
