• Processor: 1 gigahertz (GHz) or faster
• RAM: 1 gigabyte (GB) (32 bit) or 2GB (64 bit)
• Hard disk space: 16 GB (32 bit) or 20 GB (64 bit)
• Graphics: Graphics device Microsoft DirectX9 or higher

Additional conditions for the use of certain features:

• To use the touch features, you need a tablet or a monitor that supports multi-touch interaction.
• To access the Windows Store to download and run applications, you need an active Internet connection and a screen with a resolution of at least 1024 x 768.
• To dock applications, a screen resolution of 1366 x 768 or higher is required.

Programs and devices you use in Windows 7 must function properly under Windows 8 Consumer Preview. In some cases a device or program may require an update. You may also need to uninstall some programs and reinstall them after installing Windows 8 Consumer Preview. The installation program Windows 8 Consumer Preview scans your PC to determine what is compatible and what is not, then generates a report that you can save or print. Make sure your devices are connected to your PC and in working order before running the installer.
